Workshop Mentor, Exhibit Design

Partnering with the Chicago Public Library and YOUmedia, facilitated the teen workshop which asked student participants to look to the future in order to imagine Chicago as the city of clean air, water, food, and energy.

They built their cities from stages beginning with praries and oak savannahs to human occupation, habitation, and urban development from agrarian roots, to a linear industrial petropolis. They collaborated in teams with the help of workshop mentors, choosing civic positions to contribute to stages of occupation, expansion, and industrialization. The mentorship focused on contemplating a city rebalanced with its setting and urbanization in response to larger freshwater and biodiverse ecologies.
